I have a Master’s from Northwestern University and practiced orthopedic physical therapy for 12 years. I worked in both a clinical setting with patients and students as well as in the classroom as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern. Health and wellness has been a part of my career for over 20 years.

In 2006 I learned I had a severe gluten intolerance and an autoimmune thyroid dysfunction and it became critical for me to change the way I lived, ate, and cared for my body if I wanted to live the energetic life I always wanted.

Many things in my life had to change, including my career that was fast-paced and often left me so exhausted I barely had enough left in me at the end of the day to care for my daughters. I wasn't alone with this feeling. Many women I knew were burning the wick at both ends and had no idea how to care for themselves, provide for their families and live vibrant lives.

Natural Wellness Girl was born out of a deep desire to help people live healthier and more energetic lives. More than 10 years later, I have learned so much about wellness and have been able to help thousands of people with their path toward total wellness.

After an unexpected ownership change in the company, Kara found herself for the first time without a job. it was then that I realized my work-life, family life balance had been totally skewed. That was 6 years ago.
